Marketing And Advertising, What Is The Difference?

Marketing defines strategic development of the enterprise, carries out coordinating creative function, owing to marketing there are new products, new industries, new technologies. And in its turn marketing, as a tool, can organize the environment of relations between all players of the market, such as consumers, competitors, suppliers, etc.

Marketing always defines the most general, global approach to business and at the same time it gives effective ways of influence on a situation, therefore the marketing approach to business dealing is inherent to all successful businessmen.

What is the difference between marketing and advertising?

Advertising is a part of marketing, and, probably, the most appreciable part. But marketing is not limited to advertising. Tools of marketing are various and operate both in inside of business and from outside of it, marketing executes mediatory functions between the manufacturer and the consumer. First marketing finds out needs in an environment, then it materializes these needs on manufacture, afterwards it develops effective communications with the consumer, collects responses. Positive responses are used for advertising, for strategic planning, negative ones are used for correction and modernization of a product. It goes in spiral motion infinitely. The main task of marketing is to notice in the habitual environment things that are possible to use for attraction of attention, for improvements of the offer (of goods, service), for maintenance of steady demand, for increase in consumption, etc.

There is one prevention: do not use trapping methods if you cannot justify their use in the best way (with good service, quality of the goods, special offers).

Is it the truth that enterprises which have faced any problems will be the first clients of a marketing agency?

Of course, it’s not. The reference to a marketing agency is mostly connected with the development of business, with the decision of new problems. The cleverest and most experienced clients come to us, because they look ahead more deeply, they are capable to predict a situation and to use all possible opportunities. There are many reasons why all large companies use outsourcing in a varying degree. That’s because it is always more efficient to be the first one who undertakes effectual measures.

If you start first, you’ll have preference and more chances to win on finish.

So do you consider that the main thing is to be first to start? In our opinion, the main thing is to realize where you go and never stop. To know where you go is to have precise strategy. At first sight strategy seems to be something abstract and unessential, however, if strategy is formulated correctly it helps to make a decision in different situations to each employee of a firm. Small firms, where all employees are enough close connected with each other, may have clear general strategy which is fixed nowhere, but large companies have to sound strategic priorities, to explain their importance and to demand their execution.

One of the most popular strategies nowadays is “the Client is our all!”, but in 90 % of cases it is only declared, and at all levels probably convenient decisions are accepted but not the decisions which are corresponding to a strategy of a firm. Strategy does not work often because with the exception of top managers nobody knows about it.

It sounds somehow like it has little to do with a reality …But we talk about how to make great progress and how to be first, instead of what happens actually.

An idea is the most important thing in business. Why will clients come to you? This is the main question. Try to make it easy to answer.
